Bismillah. We begin everything with the name of Allah. We say Bismillah to initiate an act to acknowledge the intention and the ethics we carry with all that follows Bismillah

[I suggest you read this newsletter in the browser as it is image heavy, and the email will pixelate most things.]

And we are back! There are three additional newsletters in the queue for this month alone :) I will use the newsletter throughout the year for the usual shenanigans and deeper dives into individual works, projects, and series. Later this week, you will begin to receive the first of three deep dives. This year, we are not being shy.

For now, browse my 20 things gathered/20 things dispersed.

From Wikipedia: Alembics from a 1606 alchemy book. ||| “Drawings of alembics from a Renaissance chemistry book by Andreas Libavius. These were glass and ceramic hoods for vessels used for distillation. The distillation vessel (called the "cucurbit") would be heated by a flame, the liquid inside would boil and the vapor would rise into the alembic, where it would condense by contact with the cool glass walls and run down the spout into a receiving container. Alembics were invented during the Middle Ages for use in alchemy, the protoscientific precursor to chemistry.”
