Neta Bomani's project is amazing. I have been re-reading Dark Matters recently and this has been so well timed. I am appreciating no angles of this work through this audio zine. Thank you for sharing!

I think about Neta's project often! I need to return to Dark Matters as well! I love rereading and it happening at the most kismet moment.

(ALTER)NATivE—

1. Her fingers were altered, also a synonym with “altar,” and I see Clifton’s writing as a type of altar, and Ouija has a cult/alternative culture following

2. It’s a grand kangaroo word!

3. Alternative narratives, alternate histories/temporalities, ways computing has altered human culture, how information and definitions are continuously altered over time and simultaneously across the world

4. An altered home staged to fit her vision, an altar to commodity and/or “safety” in provisions

5. Going for an alternative route to make the video happen, alternative as in experimental in the pop music world

ALTERNATIVE

*alter

*alternate

Could the word also be an anti-kangaroo word ... like "native" (original place of origin, foundation) and alternative (shift away from from original)? This may be a stretch!
